In areas where rainfall is scarce, reclamation of water from municipal wastewater treatment is becoming common. Municipal wastewater reclamation has been practised using membrane technology throughout the world. One of the wastewater treatment plants in Singapore used Hyflux's proprietary membranes products for RO pretreatment with 90% recovery rate, producing 24,000 m3/day water for RO treatment.
