R&D and Process Evaluation

Backed by our membrane and materials research centre in Singapore, the largest in Asia outside of Japan, Hyflux ensures that the development of cutting-edge technologies remains as our key driver to spearhead sustainable growth for the Company. Through our in-house research or collaboration with reputable institutions worldwide, Hyflux leverages on our membrane technologies to develop a comprehensive range of membrane products and membrane systems to provide an environmentally-friendly solution to a wide range of applications in water treatment and industrial manufacturing processing. We have moved into the field of clean energy in environmental applications such as the recycling of used oil and solvents, clarification of palm oil, processing of bioethanol as well as in the production of lactic acid. Our dedicated, multi-disciplinary team of experts work closely with our clients around the world, who are facing challenges from waste treatment to product recovery. Our researchers evaluate the economies and science of our clients’ process efficiencies and the suitability of introducing our membrane technologies into their processes. Hyflux’s outstanding performance in R&D has been widely recognised. In 2006, we were awarded the Water Company of the Year at the Global Water Awards, by the Global Water Intelligence, United Kingdom. In addition, we were twice listed as Forbes Asia’s Best Under a Billion Company in 2005 and 2006 consecutively.
